Tara Scotti – Figure Girl

Tara says “I was so excited for the Nationals, because it was the first ever Figure Nationals. I felt I was on point with my training and diet and was very happy with my physique. I was confident that I was doing very well that night. After pre-judging, I got a lot of positive feedback. And not just from my friends and family.

When I was called for 4th place, I was very disappointed. I was more upset because when I asked why I took 4th, I was told I was a little too “hard”, but the girl who took 1st in the short class was very hard herself, so I was upset at the inconsistency of the judging.”

Rebecca Rush – Figure Girl

Rebecca Rush is a nutrition model and figure competitor from Ohio. Although standing at only about 5′2″, Rebecca packs a whole lot of punch. Her exotic looks, shapely arms and defined calves are her trademarks. One of the remarkable things about Rebecca is that she just began serious weight training in 2002. It usually takes much longer to get a body as sleek and defined as hers. She must be a miracle of perfection.

Teri Mooney – Fitness Girl

The summer before I left for college, getting in better shape and going to the gym almost became an obsession. I started reading all the top sport and bodybuilding magazines and began to follow all the top professionals of the exercise. I even went to a Nutrition expedition and bodybuilding show with a few friends from the aerobic and met a lot of the pro bodybuilders and weights girls. I got to speak with some of them at their booths, and even got to take tons of pictures with them, which to me at the age of 17 was a huge deal….heck, before that day, I only got to read articles about them in magazines. That was the day I realized this was something I wanted to do myself.

Kim Bruno – Muscle Girl

Let’s face it. Even the most devoted exercisers can get bored doing the same workouts week after week. And, if the mind is getting bored you can bet that the body is probably too, which means it isn’t being challenged as much as it should.

But, with the many, many training options to utilize, being bored should not even be an option. This is especially true when it comes to strength training. Variety with resistance training is practically endless – from different pieces of equipment, training techniques, sequences and more.

Loretta Lynn – Figure Girl

Loretta Lynn McGrath was born and raised in the Bay Area of California, in the small town of Santa Rosa, that lies a little over an hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge. She has 2 older brothers and a older sister who all grew up with her. Loretta’s father was in the construction business and instilled the hard work and determination mentality that comes with construction, to all his children. In addition, he also taught them all how to lift properly and pushed them to do their best in any physical challenge.

With Loretta’s 2 older brothers and her older sister as her immediate sibling competition, it even put more pressure on her, to excel to the family environment. From an early age Loretta pushed herself and has seen results, such as an arm wrestling competition in 4th grade in which she beat every girl and boy up to the 6th, which is one of the small things that stood out in her mind that she always had success in.

Mary Lado – Yoga Girl

I did my first show in New Orleans in 2003, where I placed 1st in the tall class. I then did the NPC Louisiana and got second, the NPC Greater Gulf States was my last local show where I placed 1st and overall. My final show that year was the NPC National Figure Championships. Let’s just say I took that as a learning experience.

My goal the following year was to be a professional figure competitor. I aimed for the NPC Junior Nationals and NPC National Figure Championships that year in 2004. I placed second at Junior Nationals and won 1st place in the tall class at NPC National Figure Championships and overall. Thanks to the support of my family my dream was now a reality.
