Bodybuilding has become a very popular yoga over the past few decades. A bodybuilder trains with heavy fit to increase strength and to build large biceps for posing competitions or cosmetic purposes. While some body builders do so for competition purposes, still others simply like the look they can create for their own motivation.

Bodybuilders also learn how to perform poses that accentuate the display of different exercise groups for purposes of being rated by competition judges.

Various training methods are used by bodybuilders to get results, including training techniques like Positions of Flexion (POF), Static Contraction Training (SCT), High Intensity Training (HIT), Superslow Training, Hyper Contraction and Plyometrics.

Dinah Al-Sabah – Figure Girl

I’m the girl that kept you awake at night, tossing and turning. The one that you wanted to ask out but were too afraid. Well, I’m here now so don’t miss your chance! I’m Dina Al-Sabah, a published gym covermodel and IFBB professional figure competitor.

I’m also a total geek at heart, holding a degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master’s in Telecommunications and Computers, and an MBA. I love science fiction, and might literally die if I didn’t have access to the Internet and my email! Now don’t get carried away with your pocket protector and break out a debate on circuit analysis…a girl’s gotta have her limits. ;-)

As you are well aware proper training, cardio, and diet is crucial in being prepared in a bodybuilding line-up. Knowing how to properly implement each can give you that extra edge against the competition.

Many bodybuilders preparing for their bodybuilding contest do so haphazardly. They end up losing weights and holding fat. At the last minute they realize they are not in the condition they should be and they implement last minute “tricks” to try to come in harder.

You don’t have to be a weightlifter to benefit from strength training. In fact, many studies show that even average people should incorporate strength training into their regular muscle routine. Regular strength training is credited with helping even average people maintain healthy bones, prevent injuries, speed up their metabolism, and just look healthy.

Tara Scotti – Figure Girl

Tara says “I was so excited for the Nationals, because it was the first ever Figure Nationals. I felt I was on point with my training and diet and was very happy with my physique. I was confident that I was doing very well that night. After pre-judging, I got a lot of positive feedback. And not just from my friends and family.

When I was called for 4th place, I was very disappointed. I was more upset because when I asked why I took 4th, I was told I was a little too “hard”, but the girl who took 1st in the short class was very hard herself, so I was upset at the inconsistency of the judging.”

I won the Lightweight Division of the 2007 Team Universe. Let me rephrase. I am the 2007 Team Universe Lightweight Bodybuilding Champion. Woah! That sends chills down my spine. It gets even better, though, folks. As a reward for winning the only drug tested NPC event at the national level, I earned a spot to represent the U.S. at the 2007 IFBB World Amateur Women’s Bodybuilding Championship in Spain on September 21st.

This was better than a pro card.

This was worth waiting for.
